A fire affected the premises of the prestigious HEC business school on Tuesday evening in Jouy-en-Josas (Yvelines). The fire started shortly after 20 p.m. in circumstances that are still undetermined. The cause of the disaster is still unknown.
The main amphitheater of the establishment was severely affected. Another building was also partially destroyed by the flames. Many firefighters are on site.
"The windows exploded, the flames protruded from the roof, it was impressive," says a second-year student who lives on campus. When the disaster started, we were in conference with Jacques Attali (entrepreneur, economist and senior French official). At the moment, we have not yet had any communication from management. »
Created in the late nineteenth century, HEC is considered one of the best business schools in Europe. Previously located in Paris, it joined the Yvelines in the 1960s, on a campus of several tens of hectares. Each year, it welcomes 4,500 students and 8,000 executives from large companies in continuing education.
