Two drug dealers of comedian Pierre Palmade were sentenced to up to one year in prison on Monday (November 20th), AFP reported. Three people suspected of having supplied narcotics to the comedian who, in February, caused a road accident while under the influence of cocaine and synthetic drugs, were tried in a correctional court in Melun (Seine-et-Marne) on 20 November.
The proceedings, involving three suspects aged 21, 22 and 31, follow an additional investigation unrelated to the accident, sources close to the case said. On 10 February, on a departmental road in Seine-et-Marne, Pierre Palmade was driving a car that collided with an oncoming vehicle. In addition to the comedian, three people were seriously injured in the accident: a 38-year-old man, his 6-year-old son and his 27-year-old sister-in-law, who was six and a half months pregnant. She lost her child, a female, before an emergency caesarean delivery.
Substance Abuse Problems
In police custody, Pierre Palmade, who has been plagued by drug addiction for decades, admitted to having consumed narcotics before getting behind the wheel. He was charged with manslaughter and unintentional injury by a driver who had used drugs in a state of lawful recidivism.
