The proceedings, involving three suspects aged 21, 22 and 31, follow an additional investigation unrelated to the accident, sources close to the case said. Substance Abuse Problems

In police custody, Pierre Palmade, who has been plagued by drug addiction for decades, admitted to having consumed narcotics before getting behind the wheel. He was charged with manslaughter and unintentional injury by a driver who had used drugs in a state of lawful recidivism.
