In a long-awaited event that brought together chefs, gastronomic entrepreneurs and specialized press, among other representatives of the sector, the first selection of Argentine restaurants in the Michelin Guide was presented. 3 establishments in Buenos Aires and 4 in Mendoza were distinguished with the prestigious stars in recognition of the excellence of their cuisine and service.

The ceremony that consecrated Argentina as the only Spanish-speaking country in the region that appears in the prestigious French guide took place at Arenas Studios in the neighborhood of La Boca and was conducted by Iván de Pineda.

The surprise of the evening was that the Aramburu restaurant got two Michelin stars. The remaining six award-winning establishments received one star.

In addition, there were special mentions: Tomás Treschanski, chef of the fine dining Trescha (Murillo 725, Villa Crespo) won the Michelin Young Chef Award 2024. And 42 restaurants in Buenos Aires and 15 in Mendoza were selected among those recommended by the Michelin Guide.

Seven restaurants in Buenos Aires were awarded for their high quality cuisine and moderately priced service. These are Bis Bistro, Reliquia, Anafe, Mengano, Caseros, La Alacena and República del fuego.

Other special mentions were the 2024 Michelin Sommelier Award won by Martín Bruno from the multi-award-winning Don Julio grill. In addition, restaurants that work sustainably were distinguished with the green Michelin star: Anchoita, Don Julio, Crizia and El Preferido were selected in Buenos Aires and Casa Vigil, Zonda and Riccitelli Bistro, in Mendoza.

What is the Michelin Guide and how does it work?

More than 40 destinations on three continents (Europe, America and Asia) are listed in the Michelin Guide. It was created in 1900 by the tire company of the same name with the aim of guiding international travelers and local food lovers to the best restaurants and is considered worldwide as one of the highest authorities on the subject.
