When women travel alone, it's often about safety. A ranking now shows the safest cities for women traveling alone. Including distant destinations.
The world has many places to discover, whether near or far – travel is popular in a group or alone. Various demands play a role in this. If, for example, a family, a group of friends, a couple or a person travels alone – different things are important. Especially women who travel alone pay more attention to safety standards. The insurance company Berkshire Hathaway Protection has investigated which cities are particularly safe.

Various aspects and evaluations have been incorporated into the insurance company's investigation. These include testimonials from respondents, results from The Economist's "Safe Cities Index", ratings from Geosure Gobal and Numbeo's Crime Index. Assessments up to August 2023 were taken into account. It is important to note that the ranking does not guarantee that there will be no crime or assaults in the cities in question. Everyone has a different understanding of security – in the following cities, Berkshire Hathaway Protection's evaluation was good.Honolulu, USA: Hawaiian Honolulu is known for its floral decorations, famous Waikiki Beach, and crystal clear waters. From beach days, shopping trips and cultural education, everything is possible there. According to the ranking, it is especially safe in Honolulu for women traveling alone. But parents have also rated the place as safe. Among other things, this may be due to the health measures that have been rated as good.Amsterdam, Netherlands: The Dutch capital Amsterdam is closer – partying people and culture lovers meet in Amsterdam. This works well for the respondents.Copenhagen, Denmark: The capital of Denmark is ideal for a city trip, among other things.
