An unexpected fashion duel in Monaco. Charlène and a family member wear the same design – but she comes out on top.
Monaco - Every year on 19 November, Prince Albert (65) and the Grimaldis celebrate "La Fête du Prince", the Day of the Nation, together with the entire Monaco. With Charlène of Monaco (45), the small rocky state on the azure sea radiated elegance and splendor. But one detail caught the attention of royal observers and caused confusion.
Charlène of Monaco becomes the focus of attention in Emilia Wickstead's checkered coat
The festivities took place over several days. As early as 18 November, the palace presented pictures of the sovereign, who, together with Albert's niece Camille Gottlieb (25), put together gourmet packages for those in need for the Monegasque Red Cross. In addition, Charlène was presented with the Medals of Honour in honour of the volunteers of the National Red Cross in the Court of Honour of the Prince's Palace.
Charlène was highly praised for her outfit choices. She presented herself in an olive green and black caromantel by Emilia Wickstead (2,060 euros), which the princess wore with a narrow Celine belt around her waist. "Fabulous! This coat is so eye-catching in color, pattern, and cut. I can't think of anyone who looks better in this coat," was the enthusiastic reaction of one fan.
Did Tatiana Santo Domingo seek styling advice from Charlène of Monaco?
The following day, the entire Grimaldi family gathered on the balcony of the palace to wave to visitors in the courtyard of the Prince's Palace. In addition to Albert's sisters, Stéphanie of Monaco (58) and Caroline of Hanover (66), their descendants and their spouses were also present. Caroline's eldest son, Andrea Casiraghi (39), appeared with Tatiana Santo Domingo (39) and their three children, which was the start of the styling duel.

It was a complete surprise when Andreas' Colombian-Monegasque wife appeared in an ensemble by Emilia Wickstead that matched the colour and check pattern Charlène had worn the day before. Instead of the coat, the 39-year-old had opted for a Shetland dogtooth dress (1,765 euros) in combination with a checked blazer (1,612 euros). In addition, a 272 Euro headband by Jennifer Behr adorned her head.

Of course, the doubling caught the eye of the royal fans: "It seems like we have a new favorite designer among the Monaco Royal Ladies! It [Tatiana's design] is interesting as a dress and jacket. Still love Charlène's coat," one user commented. However, who had the royal upper hand in the fashion contest was aptly summed up by another comment: "Normally I'm not a fan of Tatiana's fashion choice, but this coat is really great." Could it be that someone got inspiration from Charlène? Charlène of Monaco is often praised for her excellent style, as was the case at the National Day Gala Evening. Sources used: Instagram
