"The Istat data are clear. Between October 2023 and June 2021, i.e. before the price increases triggered from July 2021, the light of the free market in Italy rose by 97.7% against 31.6% for the protected, more than triple, while considering the first useful gas data recorded by Istat, December 2021, the free market has since increased by 41.5% against +5.7% for the protected. Why do you want to enrich electricity and gas companies at the expense of families?"
This was written in a statement by Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers Union (UNC).
"A measure at no cost to the Government that could help families at a time of serious difficulty - added Dona - is not taken with the excuse of a negotiation with Europe, when the NRRP, at least the one signed by Draghi, did not provide for a closure of the commitment by January 2024, but only to start a path, which has already happened with the transition of micro-enterprises to the free market".
