Telecommuting, borrowing books: this media library in Val-d'Oise opens to its subscribers when... it is closed


Highlights: Two media libraries in Val Parisis (Val-d'Oise) are among the first in France to test the disposit. The Eclipse is closed this Monday, but it is one of two libraries in the area to test Open + system. The other is André-Malraux in Ermont, which opens to subscribers when the library is closed. The two libraries are managed by the Val-Parisis agglomeration community. They are open from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week.

Martine opens the door of the media library by scanning the barcode on her subscriber card, goes to the kiosk to return the just-released biography of astronaut Thomas Pesquet, then places the book on a trolley, before going to choose another. However, the Eclipse is closed this Monday. But it is one of the two media libraries in Val Parisis (Val-d'Oise) — along with André-Malraux in Ermont — to test the new Open + system.
