Dozens of workers were affected by an ammonia leak in a refrigerator in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas. It happened at 1800 Lafayette, south of the City of Buenos Aires.
Sources from the City Police indicated that two City Fire Department operators are going to enter to stop the compressor that registers the leak.
According to the sources, the head of the plant and security indicated that the leak was caused by the fire of a compressor and assured that the refrigerator was completely evacuated.
The affected slaughterhouse, where about 100 workers work, was completely evacuated. About <> workers were "in respiratory distress," police and SAME sources reported.

Firefighters perimetered two hundred meters around, a total of four blocks, as a preventive measure.
