The weekend of snow chaos has pushed the snow clearance services to the limits of their capacity. Nevertheless, there was criticism. "This is outrageous," says Ebersberg's mayor Ulrich Proske. Five questions for him:
Ebersberg - The clearing services of the municipalities have had to surpass themselves in the past few days in order to cope with the masses of snow. Nevertheless, there was some criticism that everything was taking far too long. Ebersberg's mayor Ulrich Proske has no understanding for this at all and stands in front of his people, who have been working around the clock over the weekend. Some people are outrageous, he says.
You've been getting upset about people's expectations on social media. Are the Ebersbergs outrageous?
The vast majority of Ebersbergers are certainly not outrageous. But a few do. Anyone who gets upset about the clearance service on a weekend like last one didn't notice what happened on their doorstep?
What do you mean exactly?
In the town of Ebersberg alone, 30 men were busy clearing snow together with three subcontractors. Around the clock. When we received the weather forecast, we tripled the number of crews. And yet it takes time until all roads and paths are cleared. First of all, escape routes have to be cleared, then downhill sections and other dangerous road sections. Only then do side roads come along.
And not everyone understands that?
Obviously not, judging by some of the reactions our team has received. Yet the people themselves could do so much to get the extreme situation under control.

Fancy a voyage of discovery?
The heavy snowfall had been announced. You can park your car on the property where possible and don't leave it on the road, so the snowplough has to slalom. Or: As soon as the road is cleared, residents shovel snow from their properties right there. This is even a dangerous interference with road traffic,
Despite all the annoyance, were there any positive experiences?
Yes, some employees have been offered hot coffee and cookies.
