"I was in favor of eradicating Hamas when it was much smaller, when it involved a much lower price," Labor Party chairwoman Merav Michaeli told Radio 103FM on Monday. "Netanyahu argued that a political settlement must be avoided at all costs, and therefore Hamas must be strengthened. We are dealing with the consequences of this today."
"The right wing has launched a campaign of 'there is no difference between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority,'" Michaeli continues, "The behavior of Abu Mazen and some of his senior officials since October 7 is shameful and disgusting. But all senior defense officials throughout the generations will testify that Abbas helps Israel thwart terrorist attacks. In the end, there is an organization here that recognizes the State of Israel and cooperates with it, as opposed to Hamas, an organization that wants to destroy the State of Israel. One of these organizations must be destroyed, and the other must work to stop this horrific cycle of bloodshed."

MK Michaeli refers to the world's apathy towards the rapes committed by Hamas on October 7, saying, "International women's organizations have gone bankrupt in their treatment of crimes committed against women in Israel. They are not only betraying Israeli women, they are simply dismantling feminism. Today it's Israelis, tomorrow it could be anyone else. The self-calling progressive left has been completely confused. When there are demonstrations in which jihad is shouted under the banner of alleged human rights, it is understandable that there is a very serious malfunction."
"I would like to point out that in Europe we receive a lot of support," stressed Merav Michaeli. "I was at a conference of social democratic parties from across Europe, from which an unequivocal statement was issued condemning the massacre and calling for the release of the hostages, but did not call for a ceasefire at the time. We are not completely alone in the world."
