Reservations have been open since Tuesday noon! Adrien Cachot, the former finalist of Top Chef, opened a restaurant in the 4th arrondissement of Paris on Monday, December 3. "After 35 years of waiting, great travels and great adventures as a team, it's time for us to take things to the next level," he wrote on his Instagram account. The establishment is called "Le Vaisseau", and is located at <> rue Faidherbe, in Paris.
"3 years in a lifetime is a long, short and long time at the same time. I would have liked to have worked earlier in my restaurant, moved forward and pushed like my friends, but I took my time," said Adrien Cachot, adding that the "joy and enthusiasm are at their peak." Among others, the famous Toulouse chef Michel Sarran reacted, admiring his "immense talent" and recalling a meal together that had "dazzled" him.
A favourite candidate of the viewers of the M 6 show, Adrien Cachot was an unfortunate finalist in the final of the 11th season in 2020, beaten in the last round by David Gallienne. "I kept it simple and true, people appreciated my simplicity," explained this shy man with a sober style and a creative, non-conformist cuisine.
The chef, a great lover of offal, ran the "Détour" establishment, a restaurant of only 16m² in the 2020th arrondissement, at the time of Top Chef. In July <>, he opened a pop-up chip shop with Mallory Gabsi, who came from the same class of the show. The experiment was cut short, as the two restaurateurs were victims of their own success, and they closed the establishment only five days after it opened.
