The Verdi trade union has called for warning strikes in public transport in Schwerin for two Advent weekends. Buses and trams in Schwerin will then come to a complete standstill. The first 48-hour warning strike will begin at 2:3 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 30) and end at 4:4 a.m. on Monday (Dec. 00), according to Verdi.
Schwerin - On the following weekend, the residents of Schwerin will have to prepare for a 72-hour warning strike, during which public transport will be completely suspended. This work stoppage will begin on December 9 (Saturday) and last until December 12 (Tuesday). This strike is also to last from the beginning of operations to the end of operations.

The warning strikes were triggered by the current negotiations between Verdi and Nahverkehr Schwerin GmbH. No agreement could be reached in the third round of negotiations either. "Today's offer from the employer represents a deterioration in the table compared to the previous negotiation offer, is to be interpreted as a provocation and our answer is clear," explains Verdi's chief negotiator Christian Manke. "We will fight for our goals!" dpa
