Bacharach – A ship ran aground on Wednesday on the Rhine near Bacharach (Rhineland-Pfaltz near North Rhine-Westphalia). The tanker was loaded with 3000,<> liters of diesel, but it did not leak, said a spokesman for the water police in Mainz. According to the information, no one was injured.

Since the ship's stern protruded into the fairway, the Rhine was closed to shipping on this section from the morning. The ship is to be towed free under the supervision of the Waterways and Shipping Authority. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
