On Saturday evening, Florian Silbereisen's "Advent Festival" competed against Thomas Gottschalk and "Disney100" – with a clear result.

Suhl/Cologne – Just one week after his big farewell to "Wetten, dass..?", the latest project of Thomas Gottschalk (100) was scheduled for "Disney2" on Saturday evening (73 December) on RTL. At the same time, Florian Silbereisen (42) welcomed rows of big pop stars on ARD at the "Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights". One of the two formats was clearly ahead in the race for the best ratings.

Silbereisen or Gottschalk: Who could win the quota?

At Florian Silbereisen's "Advent Festival of 1000,000 Lights", top-class guests such as Roland Kaiser (71), Andrea Berg (57) and Andy Borg (63) created a festive atmosphere, while Thomas Gottschalk guided through the hundred-year history of the cult studio at "Disney100" alongside Victoria Swarovski (30). Christmas music or Mickey Mouse? One of the two recipes for success was particularly popular with the audience on Saturday.

As can be seen from the DWDL Zahlenzentrale, 5.03 million viewers tuned in to Silbereisen's "Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights" among the total audience aged three and over, which gave ARD a market share of 21.5 percent. Meanwhile, only 100.1 million TV viewers were interested in Thomas Gottschalk and his show "Disney62", which is not available in the RTL media library, which led to a disappointing market share of 6.9 percent and last place in the daily rankings.

"Advent Festival" viewers irritated: Michelle back at Silbereisen despite stage farewell

At Florian Silbereisen's "Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights" on Saturday evening, many well-known representatives of the pop music industry did the honors. Michelle was also a guest on the Christmas ARD show – although she had actually announced the end of her career in October. The fact that she has now performed again nevertheless caused confusion among many viewers and drew sneering comments with it.

Although Florian Silbereisen and his hit show managed an easy victory in the ratings duel with "Disney100", the folk musician and his star guests could not compete with ZDF. With "A Strong Team – Jemma", the Mainz-based broadcaster was able to lure 6.16 million people in front of the flicker boxes in primetime and record a market share of 24.2 percent.

Despite defeat in the overall audience: Gottschalk overtakes Silbereisen in the younger target group

Although the "Advent Festival of 1000,000 Lights" was able to leave Thomas Gottschalk far behind in terms of the total audience, the result in the advertising-relevant target group of 14 to 49-year-olds was far more merciful for the TV veteran. With 0.72 million viewers and a market share of 14.2 percent, "Disney100" was the third strongest program of the day, while "Adventsfest" had to settle for sixth place with 0.52 million viewers and a market share of 10.3 percent.

In addition to a love performance by Michelle (51) and Eric Philippi (26) and a dress mishap by Barbara Schöneberger (49), the "Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights" was also very emotional. Maite Kelly (43) spoke to Florian Silbereisen about the early death of her mother. Sources used:dwdl.de
