An article in the English-language publication of The New Arab said their journalist was among "dozens of Gazans arrested by the Israeli army in Gaza and forced to strip naked." Then, they were "searched and humiliated before being taken to an unknown location," according to eyewitnesses, the site adds. "Terrorists"?

In videos and photos broadcast Thursday night at prime time by Israeli television and going viral on social media, men can be seen lined up, sitting on their knees, heads bowed, all dressed in underwear in the heart of a city. Asked about the footage, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said Thursday night that "in Shujaiya and Jabaliya (in the northern Gaza Strip), terrorists are surrendering and exiting tunnels and houses." "We are investigating and verifying who is linked to the (Palestinian Islamist movement) Hamas and who is not," while Israeli soldiers hunt down "terrorists who are still hiding in (the) tunnels like cowards," he added at a press briefing.

An analysis of the footage by the AFP Factcheck team suggests that it was filmed in the Beit Lahia area of northern Gaza. In another footage, which AFP has not been able to verify, a group of men are blindfolded, sitting in the middle of a quarry, their hands tied behind their backs, watched over by Israeli soldiers. Israeli ground fighting and strikes raged again Thursday in and around the largest cities in the Gaza Strip, two months after the start of the war unleashed on October 7 by a bloody Hamas attack that killed 1200,17 Israelis, the majority of them civilians, according to Israeli authorities. In Gaza, the Israeli army's offensive and bombing killed more than 000,70 people, 18 percent of them women, children and young people under the age of <>, according to Hamas' Health Ministry.
