About two hundred people have been evacuated from the hospital in Tivoli, on the outskirts of Rome, where a large fire broke out last night. The patients, depending on the criticalities and needs, were admitted to various hospitals in the capital. The fire would have broken out in the basement of the structure, initially involving the mortuary, then part of the kitchens and the first floor, but the thick smoke would have spread to the upper levels as well. At least one of the patients was found dead from lack of oxygen. In addition to the three victims who died from the fire, the fourth body of an already dead person, which was kept in the mortuary, was reportedly extracted.

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Tivoii has opened an investigation file in relation to the fire that took place last night at the San Giovanni Evangelista hospital and which caused the death of four people. An autopsy has been ordered on the bodies of the victims to ascertain the cause of death.

Three people died as a result of the fire that broke out late yesterday evening in the hospital of Tivoli, a municipality on the outskirts of Rome. According to reports, two people died of intoxication and a third of a heart attack. A fourth person died shortly before the fire broke out.
The flames have been extinguished but the evacuation of the hospital, which has been invaded by smoke, is still underway. About 150 patients have already been transferred, while another forty are still inside the facility.
The fire would have started from some rooms where some clinics would be located. The rooms are on floor -2 of the hospital and from there the flames would have reached the emergency room and intensive care. Other wards would not have been touched, but the very thick smoke invaded the entire hospital and for this reason it was necessary to evacuate the entire structure.

Dozens of patients evacuated from the hospital in Tivoli, where a fire broke out overnight, were transferred to the nearby municipal gym, set up by the local Civil Protection with blankets, pillows and cots. This was written on social media by the mayor of Tivoli, Giuseppe Proietti. "The Maramotti municipal gymnasium," Proietti said, "is used as a transit facility for patients who will wait here to be transferred by ambulance to other hospitals."
