With the timetable change on Sunday, the Tölzer Land will join the MVV network. The BRB and the Kochelseebahn are also integrated into the tariff. Attention: There are new bus numbers.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – It is the beginning of a new era in local public transport: from this Sunday, the south of the district will also be part of the MVV network. For example, just a single MVV ticket will allow journeys from Munich Airport to Lenggries and Jachenau. The Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) and the Kochelseebahn are also integrated into the MVV tariff. For many, this will make it cheaper to use public transport. For example, if you used to travel with the Bayernticket and the BRB from Tölz to Munich Central Station and back, you paid 27 euros. The MVV day ticket for these zones costs 16 euros. Anyone who took the bus from the centre of Walchensee to Gasthof Post in Kochel had to pay 5.50 euros for a single trip, in the future this will be possible with the short-distance ticket for 1.90 euros.

Tölzer Land will be part of MVV from Sunday

"The expansion of the MVV network is not only a major step forward in the expansion of local public transport, but also a clear commitment to our responsibility for the environment. The easier it becomes to use buses and trains, the fewer cars there are on the road. This not only has a lasting impact on mobility, but also on the quality of life in our region," explains District Administrator Josef Niedermaier.

"One of the most important transport policy decisions of recent years"

The expansion of the network was celebrated on Thursday in Holzkirchen. "Now the time has come: Half a million people in the expansion districts will join the Munich Transport Association from Sunday," said Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter. "That was exactly our goal: the white spots on the network map should disappear step by step so that all people in Bavaria benefit from efficient public transport consisting of buses and trains." The expansion of the network "is, in my view, one of the most important transport policy decisions of recent years," added Munich's Lord Mayor and Chairman of the MVV Shareholders' Meeting, Dieter Reiter. Good cooperation with the districts in the greater Munich area was important to him from the very beginning. "With this expansion, it will be much easier and cheaper for many people to travel into the city or out into the countryside by public transport."

Changed bus numbers

However, public transport users in the Tölzer Land will have to get used to new bus line numbers. The four-digit 9000 numbers will be replaced by 300 line numbers:

O Line 9553 becomes 353: Regionalbus Holzkirchen - Sachsenkam - Bad Tölz - Lenggries (- Hohenburg)

O Line 9557 becomes 357: Regional bus Tegernsee - Rottach-Egern - Bad Wiessee - Gmund - Waakirchen - Reichersbeuern - Bad Tölz
