The Communist MP for Hauts-de-Seine, elected since 2017, has made integration issues one of her hobbyhorses. Already in 2018, during the asylum-immigration law led by Gérard Collomb, she was the leader of her group and took a very clear position against the text, which she considered "ineffective and inhumane". More recently, she co-authored a report on the effectiveness of alternatives to imprisonment.
A critic of the immigration bill and the government, Elsa Faucillon distinguished herself during the debates in the law committee by her frontal opposition to the many measures tightening the law. On the other hand, she defended the regularisation of undocumented workers in so-called "strain" occupations, regretting the "regression" of the text compared to the initial version.
