A Munich resident drove his car over warning beacons in the construction site area on the A95 near Eurasburg. Fragments of the beacons caused accidents.

Eurasburg – Shortly before noon on Saturday, the Weilheim Traffic Police Inspectorate (VPI) received information that a traffic accident had occurred on the A95 in the municipality of Eurasburg, in the direction of Munich. A motorist had driven over warning beacons at the beginning of the construction site there. Their parts are now lying on the road.

Two cars have to be towed away

When officers arrived on the scene, there were three damaged cars there. All of them had driven over knocked-over warning beacons or their feet. Two of these cars were so badly damaged in the front area that they had to be towed away, one of those involved was more lucky: his car was apparently intact.

Fragments cause damage to cars

In the course of the accident investigation, two other road users reported that they had also driven over the fragments, but were initially able to continue their journey. However, the parts had torn open the oil pan or the underbody of their cars. Both also had to be towed.

The person who caused the accident reports personally to the police

To date, nothing was known about the cause of the accident. He had obviously driven over the warning beacons in the swivel at the beginning of the construction site and had not taken any further care to secure the accident site as well as to handle the damage and notify the police. At the scene, however, the VPI found some vehicle parts that indicated that the fugitive cars were a black Ford Fiesta. About four hours after the accident, the person who caused the accident personally reported to a Munich police station. The 78-year-old from Munich had probably moved too far to the left due to carelessness and had caught the beacons.

Highway maintenance department removes 300-metre-long oil spill

The man is now being investigated for unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident and dangerous interference with road traffic. The total amount of damage is a good 11,000 euros. Because one of the cars had lost oil, the police notified the highway maintenance department. Their employees took care of the removal of an oil spill about 300 meters long.
