For four days, visitors were able to get into the pre-Christmas mood in the heart of Weilheim's old town.

Weilheim - Stalls were set up around the Marian column, where there were culinary temptations such as bratwurst, crêpes, fries or chestnuts as well as a lot of decorations, Christmas decorations and gift items. To name just two examples: At the booth of the marines of the minesweeper "Weilheim" there was mulled wine, as every year, which was in great demand. And the "Citizens for Weilheim" stirred diligently in the potato noodle pan, which not only exuded a fine fragrance, but also found many buyers. In the evening, the Advent atmosphere was perfect in the light of the Christmas tree and the many illuminated stalls - which made strolling, looking and buying a special pleasure.

At the music, many visitors paused

On Saturday, many visitors were already crowding Marienplatz at noon. Punch and mulled wine were in demand, which were available at almost all stands and not only warmed the hearts. When brass players from the Weilheim Music School played Advent songs, many stopped, paused and listened to the music.

"We work for the market all year round"

The many small stalls along the parish church were also romantically illuminated, where you could buy handicrafts and get hold of small gifts for your loved ones. Christina Conizianer has been represented with her stand at the Advent market for a good 20 years. "I make everything myself, the healing stones that I bring from Austria are selling well," said the dealer from Schongau happily. My fragrance balls, which exude their fragrance for a whole year, are particularly good," says the hobby artist. Barbara Erhard and Maria Müller have also been there for a long time at the Uganda Aid stand. Their hats, gauntlets, but also jams, wooden bowls or spices are homemade. "We work for the market all year round, and we have around ten ladies who support us," says Erhard.

St. Nicholas came with angels

At the booth of the Montessori children's house there were plenty of cookies, a pumpkin soup in a bread cup and sweet waffles helped to warm up. "Everything is made by the parents and the children themselves, the proceeds are intended for the children's home," explained Veronika Müzel-Münzberg.

The pre-Christmas atmosphere is also ensured by a varied supporting programme. School children sang Christmas carols, the alphorn players, the gospel choirs "Happy Voices" and "Heaven Travellers", a brass ensemble and many other musical participants as well as last but not least the stories of St. Nicholas – who also visited the children with his angels on Marienplatz – made the anticipation of Christmas perfect.
