It wasn't the best Saturday for River. The fifth anniversary -with documentary premiere included- of that unforgettable December 9 when they won the Copa Libertadores against Boca in Madrid was contrasted with the elimination in the semifinals of the Copa de la Liga Profesional on penalties against Rosario Central, to which was added almost simultaneously with the defeat against Camioneros in the final series of the Playoffs of the Primera B del Futsal AFA, that they left it in the 'B'.

At the GB Sports microstadium, where the Millonario usually plays at home, it was a 2-2 draw, which added to the 2-0 that Camioneros had achieved in the first leg, led the union team to the second promotion to the top flight, to accompany Glorias de Tigre, who had already been crowned champion a few weeks ago, also beating River head to head on the last date.

The story had started in the best way for the red band, coached by Mauro Riente, because Emiliano Vidal found the first goal in the third minute, giving hope to the large number of fans who came to cheer on the Millonario.

However, with 30 seconds left before halftime, a loose ball fell to Alexander Galván, who put together a great individual play to equalize.

The parity on the scoreboard was maintained until the final stretch, where River, forced to score at least two goals to demand extra time, took a risk with a goalkeeper player. Lucas Martínez Riveras scored the second goal for the Millonario with 90 seconds remaining.

The disappointment for the home team and the celebration for Camioneros came in the last gasp, when Nahuel Bontempo stole a ball and scored into the empty net to sentence the 2-2 of the rematch and the 4-2 of the series, which gave the promotion to the union team.

River, since suffering relegation in October 2019, was always on the verge of promotion: in the post-pandemic tournament, in 2020, it stumbled against Nueva Chicago in the quarterfinals; then in 2021 Atlanta stood in their way in the semifinals; and in the same instance of the Playoffs he stayed last year, when after finishing one point behind the 'Torito' of Mataderos -who was promoted directly- he lost to Jorge Newbery.

For Camioneros, coached by Juan Manuel López and who changed coach in the middle of the tournament, it will be their second time in the top flight, after having achieved promotion precisely in 2019, although they only lasted one season in the elite.
