Yehiel Leiter, the father of the late Major Moshe Leiter, who fell at the beginning of the war in Gaza, participated last week in the swearing-in ceremony of Joseph Boakai, the new president of Liberia in West Africa.
Leiter, who serves as an international consultant, even before the elections advised Boake how to improve the situation in his country, which supports Israel, but is in a bad situation economically and infrastructurally.

Upon learning of the fall of the son Moshe, Boakai called Leiter Sr. back in the days of the swearing-in, participated in the mourning and invited him to participate in the swearing-in ceremony if he was able to do so.
Last week, together with a large delegation of experts from Israel, Leiter came to Monrovia and participated in the inauguration ceremony.
At the same time, the Israeli consultants formulated a number of aid programs for the country, with the aim of helping the new president who is interested in developing his country.

"Liberia is a country that supports Israel. If you walk around the streets here you will see Israeli flags," says Leiter.
"I thanked the president very much for his participation in our mourning and for the invitation to come to his inauguration. We had conversations regarding the steps Liberia should take to improve its situation. What is certain, Israel has a friend in West Africa."
