39 children and young people with and without disabilities enthusiastically took part in a dance inclusion project, the “DanceINCLub”.
Herrsching
– The “DanceINCLub” project took place in Herrsching for the third time on Saturday: a dance event for children and young people with and without disabilities, which is intended to promote exchange among each other and reduce fear of contact.
During the chorus of the song “Best of Us” by “Wier,” all the young people’s thumbs went up: in a short time, they had rehearsed a choreography to the catchy melody under the direction of dance teachers Nina Fritzsche and Isabella Mietner.
The experience of the previous event was incorporated into the program design: “The first time I had no experience and had a much wider range.
In the meantime I offer more concrete information.
“It’s crisper now,” summarized Fritzsche from the East Coast Studio in Herrsching.
The concept is working, which was confirmed by participating young people.
“There was so much power in the dance and everyone was happy.” And a mother with children without disabilities added: “There are such happy people here.
There are too few points of contact in everyday life, and being here grounds you a little more.”
The initiator is Annette Trube, herself the mother of a young person with disabilities: “When I moved to Herrsching three and a half years ago, I was looking for leisure activities for my daughter.
There was nothing like that.” She wanted projects in which young people, with and without disabilities, met.
Her project gained momentum when she became a member of the Herrsching community's inclusion advisory board in January 2023.
“That gave me the courage to make it big.” In Fritzsche she found a committed comrade-in-arms, because for the owner of the East Coast Studio one thing is clear: “The physical is an essential part of youth.
It’s important to have the chance to practice that.”
The number of participants is constantly increasing
In 2023 they started with two inclusive dance events.
Now, for the third one, the number of participants has almost doubled to 39, and 15 helpers helped with the organization and implementation.
Most of those registered without disabilities come from the immediate environment of the participants with disabilities.
That’s why Annette Trube wants “more young people without disabilities to dare to take part.”
She is sure that they would benefit from it: “Children with disabilities are very free and happy in the workshops.
Everyone can learn from this.” After the workshops in the dance studio, everyone met in the “Stellwerk” youth center for dinner and a disco until 8 p.m.
“We make sure that there are opportunities for communication.
Many people would like to stay longer at the disco, we will take that into account next time,” emphasized Trube.
The next “DanceINCLub” is planned for April 27th, another one after the summer holidays.
In addition, Herrsching's inclusion advisory board also offers smaller events that are intended to bring people with and without disabilities together.
Trube is pleased: “On February 24th and 25th there are two cinema screenings on the program in the Seefeld widescreen cinema – with a film discussion and a shared meal.”
