A 75-year-old nun who was hit on Saturday afternoon in the center of Rome has died in hospital.
The accident occurred in Largo Brancaccio, in the Merulana area, around 4pm. The driver of the car was a 35-year-old Filipino who stopped to help and tested negative in the blood alcohol tests carried out on site.
From initial investigations it seems that the nun was crossing on a pedestrian crossing when she was hit.
The findings were carried out by the I Trevi Group of the local police which is carrying out investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of what happened.
