Jonas Wittmann from Lengdorf is 19 years old and has already starred in three Bavarian cult series: “Munich 7”, “Hubert and Staller” and “Dahoam is Dahoam”.

Lengdorf

- Anyone who knows the cult series "Munich 7" can certainly remember the cheeky little Maxi - and fans of "Dahoam is Dahoam" know the same actor as the busy activist Yannick.

Maxi, or Yannick, is actually called Jonas Wittmann and lives in Lengdorf.

When he was still in kindergarten, the now 19-year-old stood in front of the camera for the first time.

So he grew up acting.

This has not least to do with Jonas Wittmann's older brothers Julian and Thomas.

The two made a name for themselves especially with their film “Ausgrissn”, in which they set off for Las Vegas with lederhosen and two Zündapp mopeds.

“I used to film little things for YouTube at home with Thomas and Julian,” says Jonas Wittmann.

“That’s why I’ve always been comfortable in front of the camera.”

Because his brothers were at an acting agency, it was obvious that the now 19-year-old would sign up there too.

“And when it comes to acting, it’s good if you start as early as possible.” He had his first casting at “Munich 7”: “I didn’t want to go there because I was really sick the day before and threw up.” , remembers Wittmann.

“That's exactly how I told it at the casting.” The director liked this genuine and natural manner so much that the then six-year-old got the role from Maxi straight away.

During the film it was completely different than at home with the brothers: “The crew is around you, and when we were filming at the Viktualienmarkt, lots of people stood around the barriers and watched.” About five years at “Munich 7” But Wittmann thinks back fondly: “You grow together with the team like a family.” He still has contact with Monika Gruber every now and then, “and Andreas Giebel always told me stories.

As a little boy, it was difficult for me when filming was over again.”

Getting time off for filming was easy in elementary school.

At secondary school, the Lengdorfer had to speak to the principal every time.

“But I always got time off.

During breaks from filming, I often studied or did homework.” And how did my classmates react?

“Many people have already asked with interest – of course I thought that was cool.

But it was also nice when someone didn’t give a shit.”

After secondary school, Wittmann spent two years at the FOS in Erding and graduated from high school last spring.

He is now considering doing an apprenticeship or a dual study course in marketing.

“I would love to be able to act all the time – that’s what I enjoy the most.” But in Germany it’s difficult to make a living from it.

The 19-year-old was filming the new season of “Dahoam is Dahoam” from the end of October to the beginning of December.

He has been playing the role of Yannick Baumann from Baierkofen since 2021.

“Yannick wasn’t there that often back then, but in the new season the role has changed,” says Wittmann.

“He has been extremely activist in the last few years, but now he has become more mature.” Yannick is coming back to Lansing in the new season because of a podcast competition.

“He falls in love with Lien,” says the actor and reveals: “There’s a lot coming up for people during the season.”

By the way, Jonas Wittmann's brother Julian is one of the screenwriters for "Dahoam is Dahoam" - although the role of Yannick has never overlapped with the work of the eldest Wittmann brother.

Jonas Wittmann was in Dachau for a total of ten days of filming spread over the three months.

Such shoots are a lot of fun for the Lengdorf resident - but they are also tiring, he says.

“Twenty or thirty seconds in a film is often two or three hours of shooting.

You often do the same thing twenty times and always have to pay attention to every detail.”

What was strenuous for him while filming “Dahoam is Dahoam”: “I had to shave every day,” says Wittmann with a laugh.

“That made me a little excited.

But this way I can better separate the role from real life.” Because in many ways she is very different from the actor.

“I like to say: Yannick has a lot of Jonas Wittmann, but Jonas Wittmann has nothing of Yannick.”

To complete the trilogy of Upper Bavarian cult series, Jonas Wittmann was also part of “Hubert and Staller”: “Once with and once without Staller”.

In 2017 he played a footballer who steals sports bags and in 2019 he played a suspected farm boy.

“It was very different from 'Munich 7' because Christian Tramitz, Helmfried von Lüttichau and Michael Brandner always changed a lot in the script,” remembers Wittmann.

The 19-year-old also feels comfortable on theater stages: first he was in the children's theater, and later he took part in the FC Lengdorf strong beer festival with his two brothers, most recently last year.

By the way, Julian and Thomas Wittmann will be filming in Indonesia until April.

After that, in the summer, a project with all three brothers in front of the camera may be planned for the first time - "but that's not 100 percent certain yet."

One thing is certain: we will hear from the Wittmanns.

The new season

“Dahoam is Dahoam” will air from Tuesday, February 6th.

With a few exceptions, the total of 13 episodes appear on BR television from Monday to Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
