Around midday, the fire alarm system in the former Rössle inn went off.

Babenhausen - On Saturday, January 27, 2024, around 12 p.m., the Babenhausen fire department was alerted by the Donau-Iller integrated control center to smoke developing in the former guild house “Gasthaus Rössle”.
In addition, the emergency services and the police.
The automatic fire alarm system (BMA) was activated there.
When the fire brigade arrived, they found heavy smoke in the building.
Using heavy breathing apparatus, the attack team searched for the source of the smoke.
A burning refrigerator was then found in the basement and extinguished.
Due to the heavy smoke, the Klosterbeuren and Winterrieden fire departments were also alerted.
The fire smoke was forced out of the building with the help of high-pressure fans.
The fire was extinguished by the Babenhausen fire department.
It is currently assumed that there is a technical defect in the refrigerator.
There was material damage of around 40,000 euros in the basement.
