Buch am Buchrain

- A year ago it was still unclear whether the popular children's carnival in Buch am Buchrain would continue after the main organizers resigned.

Now there is good news: private volunteers have been found again.

Two young mothers, Iva Hirth and Andrea Hufschmid, are now taking on this task.

The program for their premiere event - the children's carnival on February 3rd - is ready.

The children's carnival has a long-standing tradition in Buch.

In 2012, the locally well-known couple Michaela and Alexander Schweisguth took over the organization.

Even before Corona, they were toying with the idea of handing over the task and finally organized the event one last time in 2023 (we reported).

The acquisition of successors was not a sure-fire success, but as has now become known, two private individuals were found over the course of the year.

And they are no strangers to the area either.

Andrea Hufschmid (34) was chairwoman of the Buchner Bixn Dirndl Association and had been involved in the children's carnival in the past through her club's stand.

Iva Hirth (29) is also a member of Bixn, but she is also known for her political involvement with the CSU.

Michaela Schweisguth asked Hirth whether she would like to take on the carnival volunteer position.

After an exchange with a friend, Hufschmid, the young mothers quickly agreed that “children's carnival should under no circumstances be allowed to fall asleep.

I've been looking forward to going there with my own child for years," says Hirth, who is also a trainer for the Narrhalla Children's Guard.

After a handover with her predecessor, there was a meeting with everyone involved in November about the program for this year's Carnival Saturday, February 3rd.

A lot of the tried and tested will be continued, says Hirth: clubs and parents' councils will run the stands in front of the Gallo Nero pizzeria, and the Schweisguths will provide the music as usual.

Clown Pippo starts at 2 p.m., followed an hour later by the Narrhalla Erding children's guard, and at 4 p.m. it's the turn of the Tanzmäuse Forstern.

New this year is the supply from the local brewery Buachner Bier.

Hufschmid and Hirth are already looking forward to their carnival premiere, are hoping for good weather again and would like to thank everyone involved in advance: “The carnival is only possible thanks to the help of the clubs, the community and the local shops who donate gifts for the tombola.”
