On the A9, a wolf was apparently hit by a car near the Wolfshöhe car park.
The driver responsible did not report the accident.
Schnaittach - On Sunday morning, January 28th, officers from the Feucht traffic police were called to an accident involving wild animals on the A9 near the Wolfshöhe car park.
“It turned out that the animal that was killed was a wolf,” the police said in a Facebook post.
The animal had already died.

Wolf killed in Middle Franconia: police give details
The carcass was removed by colleagues from the highway maintenance department and handed over to the Bavarian State Office for the Environment for further investigations, it continues.
The wolf was probably hit by a car while crossing the highway.
According to police statements, the driver responsible did not come forward for the time being.
Tips for avoiding wildlife accidents
Drive with foresight and adjust your speed, especially in the evening and morning
Switch off high beams to avoid blinding wild animals
Maintain a distance from the vehicle in front in order to be able to react to emergency braking
If an accident with wild animals is unavoidable:
brake, not swerve!
Avoidance maneuvers often end in a ditch.
Warn following traffic - turn on the hazard lights
After the collision, secure the scene of the accident.
Use the warning triangle to do this.
Dial the emergency number 110, or 112 if someone is injured.
Important
: The animal that has been hit must not be removed from the scene of the accident, otherwise you risk being charged with poaching!
