Intesa Sanpaolo and Sace take the field in support of Ecoross, a Calabrian SME active in waste management, asbestos abatement, environmental sanitation, chemical toilet rental and street cleaning, with a green guarantee covering the loan of 11 million euros from the 8 billion ceiling that the Bank has dedicated to the development of the circular economy.
In making this known in a joint press release, it is explained that the intervention is part of the banking group's commitment to support investments linked to the Pnrr.
With a view to achieving the objectives set by the EU in terms of renewable energy and environmental impact, the operation has the aim of allowing the construction of a plant, in the municipality of Corigliano-Rossano (Cosenza), powered by the organic fraction of municipal solid waste ( Forsu) for the production of biomethane through the purification of biogas obtained from the anaerobic digestion of organic waste coming from separate waste collection and waste from the agri-food industry.
The works began in 2021 and will be completed by the first half of 2024, with subsequent commissioning of the plant.
This operation, explains the note, falls within the scope of the green agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo, in which Sace intervenes with a guarantee to cover financing intended both for large industrial reconversion projects and for SMEs that intend to reduce their environmental impact and start a sustainable transformation.
