“We were shocked.

She waited anxiously with her husband until another Romanian truck driver came to them and wanted to calm her down.

“Then a Romanian came and told us that nothing would happen to us if we didn’t defend ourselves.”

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Radu Filip, said in an interview with

that they are in close contact with the French authorities and the incidents are being investigated.

With the announced blockades, including in Paris, the situation is now getting even worse.

Romania is taking action and issuing travel warnings.

In the travel warnings, the government addresses the road blockades and names possible regions in which closures could take place.

For Romanian citizens, the ministry also publishes different emergency numbers depending on the region.

There they receive consular assistance in the event of “difficult emergency situations”.

Meanwhile, it is unclear how long the protests in France will last.
