Peißenberg - For the eighth time, the carnival club “Frohsinn 2000” organized the big guard meeting in the Tiefstollenhalle.

On Sunday morning it was the children's turn first, followed by the adults in the evening.

Over 30 dance groups traveled not only from the immediate area, but also from several neighboring districts.

They had a total of nine hours of program up their sleeve.

The tables quickly filled up in the morning.

“It’s going to be really cozy,” said “Frohsinn” board member Thomas Rößle happily, looking at the around 400 visitors to the children’s guard meeting.

It was also crowded on the stage, where there were around 400 girls and a few boys when all the guards marched in.

As hosts, the Peißenberg Minidancers were able to kick off the colorful dance spectacle.

After that it continued in quick succession.

The groups from Apfeldorf, Benediktbeuern, Sindelsdorf, Penzberg, Schwabsoien, Großweil, Schongau, Habach, Hohenfurch, Unterhausen and Schwabbruck presented their skills to children's songs, party hits and marches.

Even four-year-olds delivered complex choreographies with leg throws and splits.

For the older ones, lifting figures and pyramids were part of the repertoire.

Several child prince couples also ventured onto the stage and confidently presented their waltzes and show dances.

Thomas Rößle bridged waiting times with humorous interviews in which the children spoken to consistently had words of praise for their trainers.

After four hours and lots of applause, it was over for the young dancers.

For the members of “Frohsinn”, however, there was no time to rest.

Just two and a half hours later, the youth and adult guard meeting continued.

Once again all the tables were full, although things weren't quite as crowded as before.

Pauline Rößle led the evening charmingly, announced the Garden and encouraged the audience to keep their spirits high.

“The guards should get a lot of energy from the hall,” she asked.

“The guard family has grown,” said the moderator happily with regard to the appearance of the Wertachgarde Kaufbeuren, which took part in the event in Peißenberg for the first time and was the only group that even wore uniform wigs.

“We’ll come back if we’re allowed,” dancer Sally expressed her enthusiasm afterwards.

The Schongau prince couple could only watch because the princess was injured.

But everyone else dances as hard as they can.

With high leg throws, complicated figures, multi-story pyramids and fast jumps, they demonstrated that their level has increased again compared to last year.

The council of eleven of the “OK Penzberg” turned out to be one of the audience’s favorites, as did the Peißenberg men’s guard, whose creativity and humor didn’t have to hide behind the many women.

What was striking was that every group was cheered on by everyone else.

“It's such a great togetherness and perfect cohesion among the guards,” praised Thomas Rößle, given the good atmosphere in the hall.

He was more than satisfied with the event: “The carnival is alive.

And he also lives very strongly in the Pfaffenwinkel.”
