Vanessa Vaughan, of Melbourne, Australia, now 47, said that when she was in her 20s, one of her exes told her that her vagina was "the worst he'd ever seen," and even years later that mean comment made her hyper-conscious of herself. The size and she started comparing herself to porn stars whose vulva was 'neat'.

"I thought I must not be completely normal down there," she recalls.

Her ex-partner's comments combined with cheating by another partner made her feel terribly insecure: "When I found out that my ex cheated on me with other women, I immediately thought back to what my ex-boyfriend told me in my 20s and thought that was probably the reason." saying.

"So I started researching plastic surgery," she said, and in June 2020, she found a vaginal surgery called labiaplasty, which costs $3,500.

It wasn't exactly what she expected. According to her, the doctor removed about an inch more skin than he originally said he was going to remove, leaving her sore and exposed.

"I told him I just wanted to tidy up and not take off all the excess skin, Wuhuan said he was just tightening the lips, but he didn't let the skin fall naturally - he cut a lot more than he needed to because he stretched it and tightened it. When he used the laser, I could I could smell my skin burning and I could see the smoke," she said.

The pain she felt after the operation was great - and the nightmare didn't end there: "I could barely walk, it burned like something I've never experienced. I went home and balded it from morning to evening because it was constantly burning. I gave it a week to recover but I still suffered a lot,"

about three Weeks after the operation, she noticed that her vulva, the outer part of the vagina that includes the clitoris and labia, was swollen.

"It looked like the stitches were going to pop," she said.

"He pushed my big lips into the entrance of the vagina. He took the flesh to the bone."

Vaughn realized her surgery had gone wrong.

Not only did he remove her labia minora, but he also removed the covering of her clit, leaving her "extremely sensitive".

"I wanted to believe with all my heart that it wasn't wrong. I was waiting for that part of my body to die - I was so afraid that it would happen," she said.

And it happened.

I had urinary tract infections every other month after that because there was no protection—nothing to protect me from the bacteria that wanted to get in."

It's been a few years since that trauma, and she's married to Ajay, a 26-year-old man. And she's still in pain.

"You inserted Tampons are very difficult and sex is still very painful every time," she said. Vaughan later sued the plastic surgeon and received a six-figure settlement, but that doesn't change the pain she endures from the fact that she might not be able to have a child. "I want to have a baby one day , but the thought of pushing a child out of my vagina is very daunting," she explained.

Vaughan wants to raise awareness of the dangers of plastic surgery on the labia, and encourages women to love themselves as they are. She posted videos detailing the ordeal on her TikTok, which received thousands of views.

"I So regret this surgery.

There was nothing wrong with me.

Lips are just skin - there's nothing wrong with excess skin.

The complications you can encounter with surgery are much greater than just larger than average lips.

I think this operation should be completely eradicated.

He is harmful.
