How to grow an avocado tree from a pit
This is how you leave it, as
NDR 1
explains in an online article,
Pull the pit in the water: You should lightly score the length of the peel of the cleaned avocado pit and stick four toothpicks into the side of the pit.
This allows the core to hang with the tip upwards in the glass filled with water.
In such a way that the core touches the water, but does not hang too low.
You should now place the water glass with the core in a warm and bright location and change the water regularly.
After a few weeks, the core should sprout roots and you can finally put it in a pot in the potting soil when the first leaves have formed.
In such a way that the core itself still looks out of the earth.
You can simply break off the toothpicks beforehand.

Spray the planted avocado pit regularly with water
You should always keep the plant moist in the pot and, according to
Bayern 1
, spray the core regularly with water.
It is best to place the growing houseplant on a windowsill, for example in the kitchen, where it is as warm and sunny as possible.
