The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, is now competing with federal agents for control of the border with Mexico, going so far as to deny them access to certain sectors.

After a Supreme Court ruling last Monday authorizing Border Patrol to remove barbed wire installed under his authority, Governor Abbott accused the federal government of breaking the constitutional pact that gives him control of security borders.

“President Biden refused to enforce the laws, and even violated them,”
