This is how Irama talks about Tu no, the song with which he will participate in the 74th Sanremo Festival (Warner Music Italy), a dense and visceral song in an emotional climax where piano, orchestra and voice become one.
''Riccardo's idea also came from Tu no itself, from the piece and from what I was telling.
With him we will do together When Love Ends, published exactly fifty years ago, in 1974.
It's an honor to be able to sing with Cocciante, it's not at all a given, it will be beautiful and also difficult, a real challenge.
It's a moment that will stay with me forever.
We will make a song that is a swing of emotions that we will share''.
A duet that will ideally be linked to the competing song.

In this case, Filippo Maria Fanti, aka Irama, born in Carrara on 20 December 1995, does so by interpreting ''a direct piece, which is spitting the truth in the face, it talks about lack and absence.
It's true that I'm arriving with another ballad in Sanremo but musically it has a different flow, and in this album in general it's about trying to maintain an organic sound, working more with the musicians, which is the direction I'm taking.
Will I have to shout?
Sometimes emotionality also comes with a scratch, as Cocciante himself does.
He is a master of emotion''.
A personal song which however does not want to say who it is dedicated to: ''I don't like to personalize too much because everyone has to think that it speaks about themselves which is the magic of music and is the work of writing in general''.
Every year he instead explains ''Sanremo is different.
What interests me most this year is the song.
Even the world of fashion that has always fascinated me less this year, I'm more focused on the song.
I'm not looking at the whole outline, I'm concentrated on the song''.
Closeness to musicians and international inspiration seem to be the things that strike him most at the moment.
''The record wasn't born in America but I go back and forth a lot.
But for me Puglia is a bit like the center of the world for writing.
Milan is grey, I believe a lot in energy and I like the idea that in the places where man has made history I feel the energy.
If I sit on a lawn in Puglia and if I sit on a bench in Milan it's not the same thing.
My grandfather felt the rain in his bones, we have lost contact with nature, when I am in Puglia I regain it.
Now I want to do it with a group of musicians''.
However, he feels he still has a lot to learn: ''I still have my sleeves rolled up.
I hope to always continue to change''.
And to do so he is also willing to 'steal': ''going to the musicians of the world and stealing, it is Mozart who stole from those who were there before to create something unprecedented and new''.
