A 27-year-old drove into the guardrail on the A95 motorway near Münsing because she was microsleeping.

Police estimate four-figure damage.

After medical treatment, a 27-year-old dozed off behind the wheel last Friday and crashed her car into the guardrail on the A95 near Münsing.

The material damage caused by the accident amounts to around 3,750 euros.

On Friday (January 26th), a patrol crew from the Weilheim traffic police station noticed a Ford Focus car on the hard shoulder between the Seeshaupt and Wolfratshausen junctions in the direction of Munich at around 1:10 p.m.

When we contacted the driver, a 27-year-old woman from Munich, she immediately stated that she had recently driven into the guardrail due to microsleep.

According to the police, the right side of the car was scratched and deformed; the damage is estimated at around 3,000 euros.

It was also found on the side guard rail that 3 fields were damaged, estimated material damage around 750 euros.

The Munich woman stated that she had come from a “physically strenuous healing treatment” as a result of which she suddenly no longer felt well and may have fallen asleep or briefly lost consciousness.

The Munich woman was taken to hospital by emergency services for further examination.

Her car, which was still drivable, and the dog in it were picked up from the scene of the accident by acquaintances.

Criminal proceedings were initiated against the driver for endangering road traffic due to physical defects.
