A large solar system was actually supposed to be built on the state property between Kirchseeon and Ebersberg.
But the first round apparently went wrong.
District
- The project of a 15 football field-sized open-space photovoltaic system on a property belonging to the Osterseeon state estate between Kirchseeon and Ebersberg directly next to the B 304 is currently on hold.
A first round of tenders for the state-owned site obviously did not produce a suitable result.
The deadline has passed.
“A new expression of interest process is currently being prepared.
This is expected to start in February,” says the Ministry of Agriculture.
Internal consultations in the ministry
The ministry admits: “One reason was the high-profile dealing with this issue and the subsequent internal consultations with the State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism.”
After the Ebersberger Zeitung first reported on the project, there was resistance from local farmers.
Farmers protest
The Ebersberg Farmers' Association made an “urgent appeal” to Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber (CSU).
The farmers have a clear commitment to the agricultural use of the land.
“We were surprised that the Bavarian state properties, which are not driven by private commercial interests, were fueling land consumption through such leasing.”
Reaction from Minister Kaniber
Reaction from Minister Kaniber: “When selecting these areas, the state estates made sure that the areas offered, as here in the case of the Osterseeon experimental station, had below-average soil quality and that this area was only partially suitable for carrying out crop cultivation experiments.
It makes sense and is necessary for the state not only to set requirements for climate protection, but also to set a good example to a sufficient extent.
As the ministry's press office now explains, there were five non-binding expressions of interest in the first round.
According to information from EZ, this included the 3E own renewable energy cooperative from the western district together with the cooperative from Ebersberg and the Eberwerken.
“The yield would not have been very high,” says Hans-Joachim Purde from 3E.
“About as high as half a wind turbine.” We haven’t heard anything more about the state property.
