Pflugdorf – Marcel Schrötter and his Italian WorldSSP team MV Agusta Reparto Corse have started their preparations for the upcoming FIM Supersport World Championship 2024 with a long stay at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain.

The test lasted a total of five days.

The team first took part in a Track Days event before the racetrack became part of the Superbike and Supersport World Championship participants on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The first test of the new year took place in wonderful weather.

The test started very well for Schrötter in perfect conditions.

The MV Agusta driver was the fastest of all Supersport drivers on Wednesday.

For the final Thursday, the 31-year-old German and his crew concentrated on many comparison tests, so that he was no longer able to improve his lap time from the previous day and ultimately ended up in 5th place on the combined time list.

“In general it was a good start for us,” said Schrötter.

“The first three days of the Track Days were very useful for quickly building up a good feeling and getting back up to speed, and I was also moving quite quickly very quickly.” He was able to make good use of the sessions and drove a lot .

That helped to try out a lot of things and prepare for the real test in the middle of the week.

“It was really cool to take part in such a test with my team for the first time, because with many comparison tests you can carry out the test work even more consistently.”

Starting at the end of February

The 2024 FIM Supersport World Championship begins on the last weekend of February on the picturesque Phillip Island in southern Australia.

In the same week, all teams and drivers have the opportunity to put the finishing touches to their racing machines in an official test on Monday and Tuesday.
