Would like to intensify community life without spending a lot of money: Mayor Rudolph Haux sees a year of austerity coming up for Krailling.

This year there will be no investments in Krailling and no road renovations, only minor surface renovations and patchwork to maintain the status quo, says Mayor Rudolph Haux in the annual interview with the Münchner Merkur.

The community's main focus in 2024 will definitely be on a massive savings budget in order to reduce costs.

Krailling

- “We cannot take on any debt.” The cash-strapped municipality of Krailling also needs to tighten its belt in the future.

Mayor Haux: “Not this year, but afterwards, some larger institutions will not receive the desired subsidies.” This means, among other things, the music school at the Würm.

Instead of 190,000 euros this year, there will only be 170,000 euros in 2025.

Real estate sales

In order to balance the budget, the administration announced land sales in 2023.

Not least because some community-owned properties are maintenance-deficit.

There was a lot of discussion about this behind closed doors.

According to Haux, the general mood in the local council is against sales.

“Now new opportunities have actually opened up to pass the budget without sales.” That’s what we’re currently doing.

The compensation must come through rigorous savings on the expenditure side.

The sales negotiations for the site of the former sports field in the KIM industrial area are almost completed.

Building yard renovation

Important savings should also be made, particularly in building yard renovations.

“With a simple, yet sustainable upgrade, we can save millions.” The construction of a new hall for the construction yard vehicles as well as urgently needed social rooms is pending.

An external renovation of the old main hall is no longer necessary for cost reasons and thus a lengthy and costly relocation of the protected house martins to a specially constructed swallow wall.

There will no longer be company housing at this location, Haux continued.

School

The Kraillinger elementary school has many construction sites.

The local council has been discussing renovation or new construction for years.

Mayor Haux wants to put his idea of a ring swap – new school and new town hall, sale of the old school site – on the table again.

Haux: “Our house architects are currently calculating the new buildings and any sales proceeds based on available guidelines.” The local councils have so far lacked this information.

However, there is great interest in ring exchange from citizens.

“In addition to a sustainable, modern school, the town hall would also be where it belongs: in the center of the town with short distances.”

Emeran Braun site

This year, the municipality would like to create building rights for living space on the premises of the Emeran Braun track construction company.

The construction process is scheduled to begin in the summer.

For this, Emeran Braun needs a new location - preferably on Kraillinger Flur, says Haux.

The track builder had already reached an agreement with Deutsche Bahn about the necessary relocation of overhead line masts.

This creates the first prerequisites.

For Krailling's mayor, creating living space is only possible through inter-municipal cooperation with the neighboring municipality of Planegg, which is planning to decide on the location of the new station area in the near future.

Haux: “I can well imagine a joint workshop, moderated externally.

You have to determine where the points of contact are and where the problems are.”

Fiber optic expansion

Another important topic is fiber optic expansion.

The joint agreement between the Würmtal communities and a provider company announced last year fell through due to a lack of a signature from Gauting.

That means: everything will start again in 2024.

“We have already found a new potential partner for Krailling when it comes to fiber optic expansion.

Negotiations are ongoing.” The administration rejects cooperation with Telekom.

Haux speaks of unspeakable monopoly behavior.

In addition, Telekom only shows interest in expanding the town center, but not in the Pentenried and Frohnloh districts.

Geothermal energy

As an alternative to gas and oil, geothermal energy can also play an interesting role for Krailling in the future.

“The drilling site for deep geothermal energy, originally on Gilchinger Flur, is now in our municipal area,” says Haux.

Drilling will begin west of the bypass near Frohnloh starting in the fall.

The planned connection of Gauting to this district heating network could then, depending on the route, also bring geothermal energy to Pentenried and Frohnloh for climate-friendly energy production.

Community life

In addition to saving money, the municipality of Krailling would like to offer its citizens an intensive community life, announces Haux.

It is important that Paulhan Square is used extensively.

After-work events will increasingly take place there.

“I could also easily imagine a boules court based on the French model,” said the mayor.

To increase the visibility of the market people, a trial market day is being planned along Margaretenstrasse.

In addition to the popular market Sunday in May, this year the community is also hosting the Würmtal Energy Day in September.

Furthermore, in the run-up to the Kraillingen citizens' meeting (May 7th), she would like to invite companies that will advise citizens in detail about solar, photovoltaics and alternative forms of energy.
