Peißenberg – When Michael Sendl talks himself into a rage, then periods and commas are not part of his stylistic devices.

The around 40 visitors were presented with a sample of Sendl's speaking speed at the Peißenberg Greens' New Year's reception.

The organic farmer and local Greens association spokesman commented on the farmers' protests against cuts in agricultural diesel subsidies.

“I'm going to Berlin myself this weekend to demonstrate,” Sendl made the green base in the “Flöz” community center sit up and take notice.

But Sendl's trip to Berlin had a different intention: "We need more ecological agriculture," he emphasized with unmistakable rhetoric: "If only large corporations have the patents and we farmers have to buy the seeds from them, then we are screwed."

Biodiversity is declining dramatically.

Climate protection and species-appropriate animal husbandry are obviously important, but they also have to be affordable for farmers - “and then people demonstrate because of agricultural diesel”.

For Sendl, the elimination of fuel subsidies is not the core problem in agriculture.

On average, smaller companies would lose just 1,700 euros as a result of the cuts.

Sendl's problem analysis is therefore different: "The system in agriculture is sick." Although it would act "too slow" in reducing bureaucracy and introducing the animal welfare cent, as Sendl criticized, the traffic light coalition is not to blame for the farmers' situation.

In the history of the Federal Republic, the Ministry of Agriculture was occupied by Union people for 51 years.

“If Markus Söder complains about the traffic lights, then that’s pure hypocrisy.” And the powerful farmers’ lobby also took Sendl to task: “It’s always amazing how the farmers’ association manages to get small farmers onto the streets to demonstrate for the preservation of large companies.”

Before Sendl's remarks on agricultural policy, co-local spokeswoman Annette Daiber had already described the sharp criticism of the federal government's performance balance as "simply unfair" - especially in view of the expansion of renewable energies and the implementation of "gigantic aid programs" in the wake of the Corona and Ukraine crises .

Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck would pursue a “pragmatic economic policy” – without ideological blinders, as the visit to Qatar regarding the required liquid gas deliveries showed.

“But the majority of Germans don’t want to hear that,” says Daiber: “Populism denies reality.”

Quotes at the Green Party's New Year's reception:

Norbert Moy, “Pro Bahn” passenger association:

-

“People are really in love with the construction of Loisachtal tunnels.”

(about the monetary prioritization of road traffic)

-

“The Pfaffenwinkelbahn is a treasure – unfortunately an undiscovered one.”

Ralf Kreutzer, RVO branch manager:

- “

In eight years the buses will be running without drivers.

Autonomous driving is coming.

- “

As a result of this alone, no bus will travel even one meter more.” (about the Weilheim-Schongau district’s decision to join the MVV

)

Matthias Bichlmayr, the spokesman for the Green Party in the Market Council, also confirmed that the federal government had “got a lot of sensible things on track”.

“But they are poorly communicated and explained.” Bichlmayr warned of a division in society and the democratic parties.

Only the AfD would benefit from this.

“I would like to see less disruption and more cohesion,” said Bichlmayr.

In addition to all the discussions, the environmental and climate catastrophe would “progress unchecked”.

But the topic has faded into the background.

Countering climate change is not just the task of the Greens, “but of all of us”.

It is a “fallacy” to solve the transport transition solely through e-mobility: “We will not only need changed mobility, but also reduced mobility.”

With the term “mobility”, Bichlmayr already provided the keyword for the final round of discussions on the topic “Opportunities of the transport transition?

With the car on the sidelines?

Utopia or reality?”.

The tenor of the talk: There is often a lack of political will and financial resources to expand public transport services and make them attractive.

It will therefore not be possible to do without cars in rural areas in the future.

Norbert Moy from the “Pro Bahn” passenger association spoke of “well-organized irresponsibility” regarding the confusion of responsibilities in rail traffic between the DB network, the Bavarian railway company and the route operator.
