According to a Whatsapp post by Brandenburg CDU vice-chairman Frank Bommert, the Green parliamentary group in the state parliament considers the consequences of the coalition partner to be inadequate.
“In our view, someone who lies so boldly should neither be deputy leader of a group nor head a committee.
“That damages the credibility of our democracy,” said Green Party leader Benjamin Raschke on Monday.
Potsdam - The CDU must ask itself whether further consequences are necessary.
In a WhatsApp status message, 62-year-old Bommert indirectly gave the impression that he wanted members of the federal government to die.
On Friday evening he admitted that he had lied and written the status himself.
He initially presented this differently.
The CDU presidium reprimanded Bommert because he had violated the party's principles.
A few days ago, Bommert posted in his WhatsApp status that God had called favorite rock star Tina Turner, favorite skier Rosi Mittermaier and favorite footballer Franz Beckenbauer - and the text continued with the addition: “My favorite politicians are Robert Habeck, Annalena Baerbock and Ricarda Lang.
Oh and Olaf Scholz.” Bommert explained that the publication was a mistake that he very much regretted.
The party's reprimand against Bommert refers both to the post itself and to his lie.
According to the statutes, a reprimand from the CDU regional association is a disciplinary measure, but is not associated with removal from party offices or other penalties.
