María Lucrecia Arias (51) was killed in cold blood, last Thursday night, to try to steal her car,

in front of her 17-year-old daughter

and on the sidewalk of her house, in Castelar.

The perpetrators of the crime are still being sought, and the residents of the neighborhood called for two demonstrations to ask for help due to the growing insecurity.

Lucrecia Arias was parking her

Volkswagen Suran

in the garage of her house, after 11 p.m. last Thursday, when thieves aboard a

black Peugeot 208

attacked her.

They urged her and her daughter, who was in her passenger seat, to get out of the car.

Her daughter was able to do it quickly, but Lucrecia's

seat belt got stuck

and she was never able to leave her seat: they killed her with a shot to the chest and they escaped without completing the assault.

During the weekend, Morón's Fiscal Instruction Unit 7 ordered that, after the autopsy, the victim's body be delivered to his family.

In turn, prosecutor Matías Rapazzo works on the search for the suspects.

To date, the exact number and identity of the thieves are not known with certainty.

A few hours after the crime, the police managed to find the Peugeot 208 in which the assailants were traveling when they attacked Arias.

They found it in Fuerte Apache, ten kilometers from the scene, with the interior burned and other damage.

That car had an arrest warrant since January 15, when it was stolen in the San Martín district.

As it was burned by the thieves, the expert reports that the prosecution ordered could not find evidence that would help identify them;

but evidence could be collected from the victim's car.

UFI 7 of Morón works on these tracks.

María Lucrecia Arias (51), the woman murdered in front of her daughter during an assault to steal her car in Castelar.

During noon on Friday, Graciela, Lucrecia Arias' mother, asked for justice and effectiveness for the murder of her daughter: justice, as for all similar cases;

effectiveness, the same with which the security and intelligence forces acted after the murder of Uma Aguilera (9), in similar circumstances.

“Please do the same with my daughter's murderers and with all the other murderers who continue to kill people,” Lucrecia's mother asked.

In both cases (Uma's and Lucrecia's), the circumstances were similar: failed robbery attempts, in which the criminals decided

to kill rather than steal.

Tired of the insecurity and impunity of criminals, residents of Castelar and surrounding areas (Ituzaingó, Haedo, El Palomar, Villa Sarmiento) called for two demonstrations.

One of them is scheduled for this afternoon.

at 7 p.m., to ask for “security and justice”, in the center of Castelar (Arias and Casares).

The other, at the same time, is actually a mobilization: it is expected to begin in the Plaza de los Inmigrantes and end in front of the 7th Police Station, which has jurisdiction in the area where Arias was killed.

In the center of Castelar you could see relatives of Juan Carlos Cruz, a surgeon murdered during an assault in Morón to steal his car.

Three teenagers are detained in the case and a few days before the case is six months old, the family is waiting for the second hearing of the trial "which continues to be postponed."

Florencia, the doctor's niece, says that "the problem is armed minors."

And she says that she went to ask for justice in the case of her uncle and that of María Lucrecia Arias.

"We try to support each other, because we know what hurts and we don't want it to continue happening," "that's why we ask for justice and security."

A friend of Lucrecia also went to demonstrate in the center of Castelar.

"I don't know, she resisted the assault. She was a great person, a great mother, loved by everyone. We ask for justice," he says and regarding the lack of detainees in the case, he maintains: "I feel that there is an absence of the State, while we mourn the loss of the murderers." They are free walking the streets."

The residents of Castelar want the commissioner of the 7th section to come out and talk to them about the wave of robberies.

In the Plaza de los Inmigrantes the climate was different.

Fed up with the insecurity, the neighbors decided to demonstrate to demand justice for Lucrecia but also to demand more patrols.

"Why is Castelar a liberated zone?"

, they wrote on a flag.

"We want to know!" shouts the crowd.

From the square located in San Nicolás and Munilla they marched to the 7th police station in Castelar Norte where they demanded that the commissioner come out and show his face.

But from inside the police headquarters, the section chief sent word that he will receive five neighbors so that they can enter and talk with them.
