The boom in

Venezuelan food

hit hard in Argentina.

So much so that tequeños are already part of many menus.

I like them so much that one day I told myself: “I have to make them.”

There I discovered that although they can be made with other cheese,

the real ones are made with llanero cheese.

It has a

firm consistency but is easy to handle

.

The main feature is that it does not melt like mozzarella sticks.

The result is a warm, soft cheese

that does not “fall apart” completely.

The flavor is mild and quite neutral

so it is great to accompany them with tomato sauce, aioli, some vegetable mayonnaise or dressings. They can be eaten

fried with the original recipe

but they can also be baked for a lighter version.

Great week for everyone!

Filled tomatoes.

It is an ideal dish for summer.

Fresh and light, which allows various ingredients in the filling.

Tuna, quinoa, rice with sautéed vegetables... Once ready, keep them in the refrigerator so that the tomato does not lose its freshness.

Peach, arugula and feta cheese salad.

Fruits look great in salads, I especially love the combination with arugula.

The wilder it is, the better as it is spicy and counteracts with the sweetness of the peach.

Curried steaks.

Curried steaks by Blanca Cotta.

Don't imagine a heavy plate.

They are beef steaks bathed in a curry sauce, broth, onion and cream that you can replace with cream or white cheese.

As always when we make a recipe with a predominant flavor, it is recommended that the garnish be neutral, such as white rice or boiled potatoes.

Venezuelan tequeños.

Since they landed on the menus of bars and breweries, Tequeños are already part of the Argentine snacks.

They have everything to earn the good reputation they have.

A cheese filling that is heated but not completely melted and a crunchy dough that contains it.
