Experience the winter magic on the way to the Rotwandhaus and enjoy an unforgettable hiking and tobogganing adventure in the middle of the magical winter landscape of the Bavarian Alps.
The tour to the Rotwandhaus is one of the winter classics and is very popular, and for good reasons: The moderate hike leads over well-developed paths and promises a breathtaking view of the beautifully situated hut at around 600 meters above sea level.
The starting point at the Alte Wurzhütte, located on the Spitzingsee, marks the beginning of an unforgettable winter hike, which can even be completed with an exciting sleigh ride into the valley.

The winter classic: Tour to the Rotwandhaus with a sleigh ride
The route starts at the parking lot at the Alte Wurzhütte and initially leads along a tarred forest road along the Spitzingsee.
The well-signposted path later winds in wide bends through the forest over a high plateau until you finally reach the Rotwandhaus, which is open all year round.
The route leading through the forest is perfectly prepared and rolled in winter, which makes it particularly attractive for winter hikers.
Many even decide to take a sleigh with them so that they can enjoy a fun descent into the valley after the climb.
