A 55-year-old Italian woman committedassisted suicide in a Swiss clinic in October after her teen was diagnosed with a neuro-degenerative disease last March and she went into a profound depression, only informing her family after she had died, la Repubblica daily reported Monday.
The unnamed woman died in Basel after previously telling her family that she wanted to go there last July, when they managed to dissuade her, the Rome daily said.
The woman, who had a science job in Turin, sent a text message to her lawyer using an anonymous number an hour before her death conveying her last wishes: "please go home, turn off the lights and gas, give my clothes to a charity shop and give my husbandthe urn with our son's ashes".
The man received an email form the clinic after the suicide which went to spam.
