Wolfratshausen – Around 40 citizens recently came together on the Loisachufer to demonstrate against right-wing extremism and xenophobia.

In collaboration with the climate protection alliance “WOR for Future” and the Federation for Nature Conservation, the couple Lucia and Hans Schmidt organized a two-hour vigil.

Alternative for Germany (AfD) party criticized

The focus of criticism was primarily the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

“The AfD denies climate change and thus the threat to our livelihoods and the extinction of species, wants to reintroduce nuclear power and exchange Europe for a German nation, which will most likely lead to the collapse of the economy and thus our prosperity and pensions,” explained Hans Schmidt .

On the edge of the weekly market in front of the parking lot at the Loisachhalle, he invited concerned citizens to talk.

“They should know that they are not alone,” added Lucia Schmidt.

In addition to the Green Party city councilors, Wolfgang Saal also followed the call.

The chairman of the Waldram settlement community, who is also committed to the Badehaus memorial site, held up a sign like many vigil participants.

“Comfortable was yesterday: it’s about opening your mouth and positioning yourself,” he emphasized.

Despite the freezing temperatures, pensioner Resi Harth even cycled from Geretsried to the rally in her rickshaw.

“We also received a lot of encouragement from passers-by today: that was important,” said Schmidt.

He announced further vigils in Wolfratshausen.
