Louis Klamroth gave “Hart aber fair” a makeover after the winter break.
But the new studio and the new concept are not well received by many viewers.
Berlin – A few months ago it was announced that Louis Klamroth (34) was following in the footsteps of Frank Plasberg (66) and would be giving the talk show “Hart aber fair” a new coat of paint from 2024 together with the company Florida Entertainment.
Now the revised edition of the ARD program started for the first time on Monday evening (January 29th).
But the new concept divides viewers online.
“Hard but fair” received online criticism for its setting
“We will try out a lot,” said moderator Louis Klamroth in advance of the “Hard but Fair” makeover.
And although the broadcaster also promised to be more close to the citizens, the end result does not seem to be working for all viewers.
Shortly after the broadcast began, there were initial reactions from the news service X (formerly Twitter).
And they turned out differently.
The backdrop alone caused debates online.
While some positive voices spoke up with words of praise such as “Finally a new studio design” or “The new look in the studio looks good”, other X users found the visual framework to be unoriginal.
“Somehow all the studios look the same now.
At least in terms of color,” one could read in the comments.
Elsewhere, a user mocked the design: "Did they repurpose Caren Miosga's studio or is our 18.36 euros not enough for a new studio concept?"
Audience criticism for the new “Hard but fair” concept: “A mess without a common thread”
The criticism of “Hard but Fair” also continued on a content level.
Positive words were not only found for the “fresh cell treatment that was necessary”.
“I see the fact that they are apparently trying to let 'the citizen' have their say more as a commendable step forward,” an X user praised the concept and added: “In addition, Klamroth seems to me to be better prepared than before.”

However, the majority of viewers had little to gain from the innovations.
“So far I’m not impressed with this new broadcast concept,” it said in the comments.
Critical words such as “not successful at all” or “exhausting and not very productive” could often be read on X.
The verdict from other fans of the show was also partly devastating.
“It's kind of a mess with no common thread,” summarized one X user.
One viewer even described Monday night's reboot as a "bumpy horror show."
