Right-wing activist Ayelet Lash was recently summoned to a hearing at the Civil Service Commission following a number of tweets she published about three years ago on the social network X (formerly Twitter) in which she came out against Arab terrorism.
According to the Commission, Lash, who works as a teacher, published statements of racism and incitement against Arabs and against the former Minister of the Environment Tamar Zandberg of the MRC in three different tweets during the year 2021. The hearing for Lash will be held at the Disciplinary Court of State Employees in Jerusalem.

In the letter received by Ash, a well-known right-wing activist who serves as a teacher at the Bnei Akiva studio in Shiloh, it is claimed that "During the period between the months of July-August 2021, on three different dates, the accused wrote three posts on her Twitter account that include statements of a racist and inflammatory nature, including inappropriate references To the one who at the time was the Minister for Environmental Protection, Tamar Zandberg."

The second tweet deals with the then Minister of Environmental Protection, who imposed a tax on disposable products at the same time.

"Arabs start 90% of the fires," she wrote to Ash two days later.
"500 arsons a month on average in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, and then they cry on Twitter that saying they set arson is 'anti-Semitism.' We will not keep silence from terrorists."
According to the officials of the Civil Service Commission, "In her aforementioned actions, the accused expressed herself in a disrespectful and offensive manner towards Sarah in the government, as well as statements of a racist nature. In doing so, the accused violated the discipline of the civil service and behaved inappropriately in her role as a civil servant."
Lash, for her part, believes that this is political persecution.
"It's just a shame and disgrace," she said in response to the summons at the hearing.
"I have been alone in my home with my children for more than 100 days because my husband is a fighter in the reserves. And I skip between my work as an educator and maintaining the house. The hearing is a slap in the face from the country I serve and an ugly gag."

If the commission believes that it will educate Ayelet through the hearing, it is wrong and misleading.
We will fight until the full acquittal of Ayelet."

The Civil Service Commission responded: "Ms. Ayelet Lash is a civil servant, a teacher on behalf of the Ministry of Education. Ms. Lash posted a number of tweets on the Twitter network that appear to be racist and offensive statements. For this, a criminal investigation has been opened against her.
After the investigation, the state attorney's office determined that even though these things may constitute a criminal offense, at this stage no indictment will be filed for them, but if similar suspicions arise in the future - this may lead to the filing of an indictment, including the opening of the previous cases.
The attorney's office forwarded the investigation material to a disciplinary examination at the Disciplinary Division of the Civil Service Commission, and based on a complaint filed by the Ministry of Education, a disciplinary action was filed against Ms. Lash at the Civil Servant Disciplinary Tribunal for racist statements and for making an offensive statement against Sarah in the Israeli government at the time.
It should be noted that the employee was invited by the Disciplinary Court to a preliminary hearing in her case and not to a hearing.
It will be clarified that many times criminal proceedings are closed while transferring the issue to be dealt with at the disciplinary level, which is sometimes the more appropriate course for events, such as Ms. Lash's case."
