Savings are announced.
We are shouting loud and clear that reckless spending is over, that France is going to settle down and spend less.
No more “whatever it takes”!
And, ultimately, what happens?
We continue to increase taxes and duties.
France has once again established itself in 2022 as the tax champion in Europe, with a compulsory tax rate 6.1 points higher than the average of its neighbors, compared to 4.8 points a year earlier.
And, if we are to believe the latest assessments from the European Commission, it will continue to rise.
Total compulsory deductions in France should reach 46.7% of GDP in 2024 after 46.6% in 2023. And even more in 2025 with 46.8%.
Ahead of Belgium (46.1%) and Denmark (43.2% of GDP)…
