There is another strike in the German transport infrastructure: after the train drivers, it is now the turn of the aviation security forces.

Airports in Saxony and Thuringia are also affected.

Berlin/Frankfurt - At Dresden, Leipzig and Erfurt airports, aviation security forces have been called on an all-day strike this Thursday.

Airline passengers must be prepared for flight cancellations and delays.

According to a statement from the Verdi union on Tuesday, employees in passenger screening, people and goods screening, cargo screening and service areas at several large German airports are affected.

In addition to Leipzig, Dresden and Erfurt, these include Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt/Main and Stuttgart.

The employees work at the controls for passengers, baggage and staff.

Without them, the security areas at airports cannot be operated.

Air traffic is therefore likely to be paralyzed in large parts of Germany.

The last time there were warning strikes in aviation security was in March last year.

At that time it was about the working conditions of the employees, who had achieved significant wage increases in recent years.

Among other things, the union is demanding more salaries for employees.

So far there has been no agreement in three rounds of negotiations.

Further discussions are planned for next week.
